Due to health and safety concerns with COVID-19 the City of Spring Lake Park and the Police Department have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Night to Unity celebrations.  We will miss connecting with our friends and neighbors this year, but look forward to celebrating with you in 2021.  Any questions please contact Sgt. Josh Antoine.  Thanks and have a safe rest of the year.

Please join the Spring Lake Park Police Department in August 3rd, 2021 to celebrate Night to Unite. Night to Unite is a time to celebrate and strengthen neighborhood and community partnerships particularly between residents and their local law enforcement.  Night to Unite takes place statewide every year on the first Tuesday of August.

Night to Unite (formerly known as National Night Out) is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.

  • Generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime programs.

  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.

  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, cities, towns and neighborhoods celebrate Night to Unite with a variety of events and activities such as:

  • Block parties

  • Contests

  • Cookouts

  • Flashlight walks

  • Parades

  • Visits from local police and fire departments

  • Youth programs

Night to Unite has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. The benefits your community will derive from Night to Unite will most certainly extend well beyond the night.
