Please join the Spring Lake Park Police Department on August 7, 2018 to celebrate Night to Unite. Night to Unite is a time to celebrate and strengthen neighborhood and community partnerships particularly between residents and their local law enforcement.  Night to Unite takes place statewide every year on the first Tuesday of August.

Purpose
Night to Unite (formerly known as National Night Out) is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.

  • Generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime programs.

  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.

  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Activities
Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, cities, towns and neighborhoods celebrate Night to Unite with a variety of events and activities such as:

  • Block parties

  • Contests

  • Cookouts

  • Flashlight walks

  • Parades

  • Visits from local police and fire departments

  • Youth programs

Benefits
Night to Unite has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. The benefits your community will derive from Night to Unite will most certainly extend well beyond the night.
