The Finance Department is responsible for providing financial management and accounting services for all city operations.  This includes maintaining accounting records, borrowing money to finance city expenditures, investing city funds, audit and budget preparation, supervision of revenue collection and disbursements of city monies, payroll processing and financial reporting.

Bond Rating
An independent bond rating agency, S&P Global Ratings, has assigned the City of Spring Lake Park an AA Rating.  This rating covers the city's general obligation bonds.

Parks and Recreation Director, Full-time

The City of Spring Lake Park is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to serve as its next Parks and Recreation Director.

General Duties:
The Parks and Recreation Director oversees the complete operation of the City’s Park and Recreation Department including the planning, organizing and administration of quality recreation programs, supervising full-time and part-time staff, development effective public relations with the community and stakeholders and the development and implementation of the City’s park development, redevelopment and maintenance five-year plans.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or closely related field
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in municipal parks and recreation with at least two years in a supervisory role
  • Experience administering a budget, park development, facilities or grounds management
  • A valid Class D driver’s license.

Salary range:  $67,204.80 - $86,167.32/year.  The City provides an excellent benefits package.

The Administrator is responsible for the supervision of all City Departments and for implementing the policies of the City Council.
